We invite you to become a member of St. Mary's Church Preservation Society. Whether you are a former member of the parish, a Holy Family Academy alumni, have family ties here, or just recognize that this architectural treasure needs to be preserved, we welcome your support for the restoration of St. Mary's Church.
In May, 1996, St. Mary's Church was added to the prestigious National Register of Historic Places, the only church in several surrounding counties to be listed. The members of the National Register have recognized what we knew all along, this church is more than just big, old and beautiful, it has historic value. For many the value is personal and sentimental. How else can you explain the commitment this small parish has made to save this church.
St. Mary's Church completed roof repairs costing over $465,000 and this debt has been paid. This is quite an accomplishment for a parish with less than 100 participating households. The roof repairs are complete, but there is still so much that needs to be done, such as, restoring the windows, repairing the historic pipe organ, replacing the boiler, redecorating the interior, and the list goes on. We know the estimated restoration will be over $1 million dollars and we know we cannot do this alone.
